I was searching for dessert recipes involving walnuts, on a whim, and encountered this strange sounding thing: Brown Sugar Ice Cream with Cayenne-Spiced Walnuts.And you know what? The spicy walnuts really do work well with the brown-sugar ice cream.

I didn’t have enough eggs, so I made a 2/3 batch and used the no-tech method of putting the ice cream base in a gallon ziplock bag and sandwiching it between layers of extra-cold ice.

No I wouldn’t want it every day, but occasionally, sure. I’m thinking about seeing if some of my artificial flavors that I use in lollipops can be successfully incorporated in ice cream.
