This was a strange movie – it’s giving me writer’s block. Sort of. I have lots of thoughts jumbled around in my head that don’t connect with one another. Resorting to bullets:

  • very sweet, very human story of an overweight male comedian in Chicago dealing with weight loss and relationships
  • nice to watch an offbeat story that isn’t overly crammed with Big Smash Action or Emotional Journeys
  • good use of sound – lots of scenes without a soundtrack mucking them up, specific music used to good effect elsewhere
  • main actor was very unselfish – lots of room for every character to be funny – notable for its generosity to female comedians
  • does Sarah Silverman play the same persona in everything she does? how many copies does she own of that long-sleeved blue shirt with the yellow shoulders?

So, I liked it.
