golubki 001 Here’s a bonus kitchen adventure for this week. On Tuesday I spent the afternoon making golubki on my own. Look how cute they are, nestled into the roasting pan!

I used 4lbs of ground pork, and instead of steaming the heads of cabbage I tried boiling them. That worked better – the leaves got nice and soft and pliable. This made them easy to roll up, and easy to cut when they were finished roasting in the tomato puree. The yield was 38 rolls, so 9-10 per pound of pork; it filled two roasting pans. YUM!
